Showcase 2020

Welcome to the Eisteddfod Showcase

In December 2019 the Devizes Eisteddfod established a new scheme to provide opportunities for gifted youngsters to gain valuable concert experience.

We launched the Eisteddfod Showcase in March 2020 and some 19 performers from the 2019 Eisteddfod were contacted to join the team, but due to the Coronavirus all our planned concerts have had to be cancelled.

We very much hope to re-start the Showcase initiative in 2021 and the team will remain the same as 2020.

Four concerts were planned :

Saturday, 21 March 2020 at 7.30pm
      Holy Cross Church, Seend

Saturday, 25 April 2020 at 7.30pm
      All Cannings Church

Saturday, 12 September 2020
      St Peters Church, Marlborough

Saturday, 10 October 2020
      Bishops’ Cannings Church

The concerts would be hosted by the venue who will either charge admission or manage a retiring collection. The Eisteddfod does not make anything out of these concerts as they are fundraisers for the venue upkeep or for a venue’s chosen charity.

Everyone is welcome to come and hear these gifted young performers.

Showcase 2021

Calling all Performers !

The Eisteddfod Showcase will continue in 2021 when at least four concerts will be presented in various parts of the county given by members of the Showcase Team.

In order to receive an invitation to be part of the team, performers must have performed in the previous Eisteddfod and reached a distinction or outstanding category in their chosen classes.

The concerts are likely to take place over weekends: Friday evenings, Saturday evenings or Sunday afternoon to make it easier for students and parents to plan availability.
