Stewards<\/h3>\n

Please come and join our friendly band of workers!<\/h5>\n

The Devizes Eisteddfod is a charity, run wholly by unpaid volunteers. Each year we rely on the support of a team of people who give us a day of their time to help run this great event.<\/p>\n

We need approximately 40 stewards and each one is given a bottle of wine and an invitation to the pre-concert drinks as a thank you.<\/p>\n

You can do a morning or afternoon session, or all day if you can spare the time. Full instructions will be given.<\/p>\n

Please contact us for more details should you require, or simply email Felicity Cooper (see Committee Members above) before 1st October who will be happy to give you any information you may need.<\/p>\n

Stewards Briefing Meeting in St John’s Parish Rooms: 10am Saturday 7th November 2020.<\/p>\n

It is essential that all volunteers attend the briefing meeting so that they know what they are doing on the day.<\/p>\n

Adjudicators’ Clerks<\/h4>\n

Adjudicators’ Clerks are responsible for the paperwork for their classes. They hand the relevant forms to the Adjudicators and then on to the Door Steward for collection by the runner. They also ensure that the classes run to time and advise the Adjudicators if they are behind.<\/p>\n

Door Stewards<\/h4>\n

Our Door Stewards man the entrance doors to the venues and make sure you are not interrupted when performing. They are there to help answer questions and help the adjudicators with any problems.<\/p>\n

Room Hosts<\/h4>\n

The room host introduces classes and the adjudicator, gives out general announcements about no phones or cameras, details of emergency exits. He\/she also informs competitors about leaving copies of their items on the adjudicator\u2019s table before classes begin, announcing the adjudicator\u2019s speech at the end of each class and reminding competitors to collect their copies, certificates and comments sheets from the adjudicator\u2019s clerk as the class finishes. They would also make sure the Adjudicator and Clerk have tea\/coffee etc. and be the point of contact for entrants.<\/p>\n

Runners<\/h4>\n

Our runners arguably work the hardest! They go from venue to venue on a continuous circuit collecting adjudication sheets from the door stewards and returning them to the central office at the Town Hall for processing. They also act as vital messengers \u2013 they are the ears and eyes for those in charge of the event, reporting back on any problems so that they can be solved quickly.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Become a Corporate Member<\/h3>\n

The Eisteddfod welcomes the support from prominent local companies and private individuals wishing to become Corporate Members of the festival.<\/p>\n

The Eisteddfod receives no on-going public funding and relies totally for its income on entry fees and to the generosity of enlightened local businesses and individuals.<\/p>\n

In return for a fee of \u00a3250 (inclusive), invoiced in September 2020, the Eisteddfod will offer the following one year benefit package:<\/p>\n
