Wiltshire Choir of the Year 2019<\/h3>\n

The 2019 Choral Festival, including the 2019 Wiltshire Choir of the Year Competition, was held on Thursday 21st November 2019 in St John’s Church, Devizes.<\/p>\n

Nine choirs competed and this year the competition was adjudicated by the distinguished musician, Mr Ben Costello.<\/p>\n

The winners were :<\/p>\n

Wiltshire Junior Choir of the Year :
\n     St Margaret’s Junior Choristers<\/b>
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Wiltshire Senior Choir of the Year :
\n     St John’s Church Choir.<\/b>
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The competition was followed by an evening choral festival of adult choirs featuring The Seend Singers, The Philomel Choir, St John’s Church Choir and the Courage Choir.<\/p>\n

Our thanks to all participating choirs and congratulations to the winners !<\/p>\n

The next Wiltshire Choir of the Year competition will be held on the first day of the 2020 Eisteddfod, Thursday, 12th November 2020.<\/b>

Choral Festival 2018<\/h3>\n

The 2018 Choral Festival was held on the first day of the Eisteddfod. 11 Choirs competed.<\/p>\n

The winners were :<\/p>\n

Wiltshire Junior Choir of the Year :
\n     St Margaret’s Chamber Choir<\/b>
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Wiltshire Senior Choir of the Year :
\n     Marlborough Youth Choir<\/b>
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Previous Winners<\/h4>\n

The first competition took place on 10th May 2014. There were 8 choirs.<\/p>\n

The winning choir in 2014 was Christ Church Primary School, Bradford-on-Avon<\/p>\n

Conductor: Helen Harris, Accompanist: Victoria Jamieson.<\/p>\n

The judges were Philip Springate, Laura Ingram Hill and Michael Johnson (Chairman)<\/p>\n

The next competition was in 2016; there were 12 choirs.<\/p>\n

The winning choir was St Margaret’s Chamber Choir.<\/p>\n

The judges were David Bruce-Payne (Chairman), Sarah Jefferies and Valerie Hoppe.<\/p>\n

In 2017 there were 9 choirs and the winners were:
\nSt Mary’s Calne Junior Choir.<\/p>\n
