Even after extending the Dance competition to a second day this year, the Dance classes are now fully subscribed and so, sadly, we can take no more Dance entries.

Due to popular request we have added two new classes : Group Drama (class DG1) for groups of any size aged 18 years and under. Entry Fee £11 Time Limit 8 minutes and Musical Theatre Group Performance (class M13) for groups of any size aged 18 years and under. Entry Fee £11 Time Limit 8 minutes.

The winner of this year’s competition was St Mary’s Calne Junior Choir. Congratuations and thanks to all our finalists. Please see the the WCY page for more details.

The preliminary rounds of the Wiltshire Choir of the Year competition were held on Tuesday 16th May. Nine choirs took part with very enjoyable and accomplished performances from all. The following choirs were chosen to go through to the final on Saturday 20th May: Devizes Harmony, St Mary’s Calne Junior Choir, St John’s Academy Chorus and Staverton School Choir. We are very sorry to say that no more entries can be taken for the Dance Day on 13th November 2016 as all 9 hours of Dance classes are now full.
In view of the amazing response to our dance classes in the 2016 Eisteddfod we have extended the Dance Event next year. It will take place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th November 2017.

This year’s Eisteddfod will include a whole day for Dance. This will take place on Sunday 13th November 2016 at Lavington School, Market Lavington, nr Devizes, SN10 4EB. Full details will be in the Syllabus, which will be available in mid-May 2016.

The two Festival Concerts were marvellous – and packed ! A fitting end to the 2015 Devizes Eisteddfod. Thank you to everyone who made it so enjoyable. See you next year ! (The Syllabus and Booking forms will be available from mid-May 2016.)

The two festival concerts will take place on Saturday 21st November at 3pm and 7pm in the Town Hall Assembly Room. Admission free, with retiring collection. Some awards will be presented at each concert.
